Divisive Mustafa Omer went on PR exercise with former jail ogaden detainees

Mustafa Omer- the risible head of Somali Regional State met the politically connected former jail Ogaden detainees and had beaming photo ops and promised them huge financial and business incentives to level up their lives. While helping the victimized is good move, this has not been done in good faith for the following reasons -           The victims he met are former top government employees/contractors who are now either state employees or contractors. -           They are very well connected people politically and are far from being needy. -           He wants them to create a good image for his dysfunctional administration to make it seem   as though he cares the victims and needy. -           It is a get to rich quick scheme to steal public funds in the name of helping the former detainees as he did under the demobilization and disarmament project of Ogaden National Liberation Front(ONLF) which he embezzled and siphoned 10 million U.S dollars off the regional state’s

Somali region: When will the crawling system ever walk? By Kassim Haji

Back to Rwanda after spending 17 thrilling days in Jijiga. I met great people with great ideas and creativity that if harnessed could contribute to a better Somali region. Huge number of youth face a life of dependency and joblessness. Yet, they have so much talent and energy locked untapped in their brains. These young people are the future of Somali region and can solve most of the problems given the right platform to unleash their talents. I visited Jijiga referral hospital with three of my colleagues , all worried about the state of service at the hospital. To our dismay and shock we saw expensive array of medical equipment-- including modern hospital beds ,oxygen cylinders and chairs dumped at the entrance , heaps and heaps of badly needed equipment. Mohamud Abdulahi Isse (Singub) in obituary by Abdiaziz Alibuur

The nature tells us the life of every one regardless of his or her social stature will come to an end and it was with a heavy heart to have learned the untimely death of Abwaan Singub albeit I was very fortunate to have attended his funeral. The passing of someone like Singub is never easy. He was a play Wright, composer, poet, comedian and pan Africanist of the first order. Abwaan Singub left behind an ocean of literature that we can treasure and he will forever remain in the hearts and minds of Somalis. Abwaan Singub devoted his entire life for the good of the Somali people at large and led by example. May Allah rest Abwaan Singub in Janah. The other Somali poets and singers in attendance were Cabdi Qays, Maxamed dacar and Laabsalaax.  Finally,   I would like to conclude my piece with Abwaan Laabsaalax’s tribute to Abwaan Singub which is Waxa Guuray Samawade! Abdiadil Hassan the SRS head of security and justice bureau is a convicted criminal

Mustafa Omer the interim president of Somali Region of Ethiopia has appointed Abdiadil Hassan as head of security and justice bureau-   a convicted fraudster who defrauded millions of Birr from Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation by illegally connecting the telephone line of the company and commercialized it. Abdiadil was caught red handed while commercializing the illegally connected telephone lines by the federal government and was sentenced by Addis Ababa Kangaroo court after he pleaded guilty to all accounts of the crime. So how can a convicted criminal head the bureau of security and justice? Abdiadil is replica of Abdi Iley albeit timing is different. Abdi iley would illegally connect electric gridlines and he was arrested for electric power theft.
