Divisive Mustafa Omer went on PR exercise with former jail ogaden detainees




Mustafa Omer- the risible head of Somali Regional State met the politically connected former jail Ogaden detainees and had beaming photo ops and promised them huge financial and business incentives to level up their lives. While helping the victimized is good move, this has not been done in good faith for the following reasons
-          The victims he met are former top government employees/contractors who are now either state employees or contractors.
-          They are very well connected people politically and are far from being needy.
-          He wants them to create a good image for his dysfunctional administration to make it seem  as though he cares the victims and needy.
-          It is a get to rich quick scheme to steal public funds in the name of helping the former detainees as he did under the demobilization and disarmament project of Ogaden National Liberation Front(ONLF) which he embezzled and siphoned 10 million U.S dollars off the regional state’s coffers.
The questions that beg answers are:
-          Why he didn’t meet the traumatized and sexual violence victims’ women with burst wombs who spent in jail Ogaden for over 15 years?
-          Why he didn’t meet and promise financial incentives to victims of torture who have limbs missing and nerves shattered?
-          Why worst tormentors and real time criminals form the largest members of his administration’s rank and file?
Just to assess Mustafa Omer’s lewd criminality in his short tenure how many prominent people he arrested for their political views?
-          Mustafa kidnapped Inshaar Dool from Addis Ababa and arrested him in Jigjiga. Inshaar is a prominent   business man and did not commit any crime.
-          He arrested and rounded up Ahmednuur Sayid and Khadar Jigre illegally for expressing their displeasure of Mustafa’s callous and kleptocratic administration.
-          He arrested over 500 boys from Jigjiga over night  and transferred to Godey central prison as though Jigjiga didn’t have prisons. This callous and idiocy has cost the families of the boys a lot of money and time in traveling to and from Godey to see or feed their loved ones.
-          He killed young boys demanding jobs and service delivery in the streets of Jigjiga in broad daylight.
-          He arrested Ali Fihiye Hirsi, the most known elder in Somali Region and veteran liberation hero.
-          He made the Somali daily laborers jobless by bringing a lot of daily laborers from southern nations , nationalities and people’s region.
-          He gave the state built houses to his close relatives and business partners and not the victims.

Mohamud Abdulahi Isse (Singub) in obituary by Abdiaziz Alibuur

The nature tells us the life of every one regardless of his or her social stature will come to an end and it was with a heavy heart to have learned the untimely death of Abwaan Singub albeit I was very fortunate to have attended his funeral. The passing of someone like Singub is never easy. He was a play Wright, composer, poet, comedian and pan Africanist of the first order. Abwaan Singub left behind an ocean of literature that we can treasure and he will forever remain in the hearts and minds of Somalis. Abwaan Singub devoted his entire life for the good of the Somali people at large and led by example. May Allah rest Abwaan Singub in Janah.
